Studio 1718 was commissioned to manufacture a collection of bespoke furniture for the guestroom refresh programme at Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, one of London’s established five-star hotels.
The project involved the manufacture of over 550 individual furniture pieces installed throughout the guestrooms, including bedside cabinets, minibar units, television cabinets and coffee consoles. Each piece was designed to integrate carefully with the existing interiors of the property, ensuring the new furniture sat comfortably alongside established finishes and architectural detailing within the rooms.
The furniture was crafted in figured anegre veneer, selected for its distinctive grain and natural variation. This allowed each surface to retain character while maintaining visual consistency across a large collection of pieces. The veneer was finished with a durable PU lacquer, specified to withstand the demands of a busy hospitality environment where furniture must perform reliably under continuous daily use.
The cabinets sit on solid ash bases, providing structural strength while introducing a subtle visual lift within the room composition. Particular care was taken during development to ensure that proportions, detailing and finishes aligned precisely with the existing furniture and interior scheme.
Projects of this scale require careful coordination and repeatable manufacturing processes. Detailed drawings were prepared to ensure new pieces aligned accurately with existing room layouts, while close collaboration with the hotel team ensured the finished furniture met the operational requirements of a luxury hospitality environment.
The result is a refined suite of bespoke hospitality furniture that balances durability, functionality and craftsmanship, supporting the established interiors of Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill while performing reliably within a high-use hotel setting.
“Studio 1718 manufactured over 550 bespoke furniture pieces for Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill as part of our bedroom refresh programme.
Michael Mancini and his team supported the project with detailed drawings and careful coordination to ensure the new pieces integrated with existing furniture throughout the hotel. Particular attention was given to material selection and lacquer finishes to ensure the furniture matched the established interiors while remaining durable for day-to-day use.
The quality of the finished pieces and the professionalism of the team met the standards expected within the property, and we would be pleased to work with Studio 1718 again.”
